A test case is basically a list of instructions for a software vendor to create a virtual model using their BIM software tool that outputs a gbXML file that closely resembles the gbXML file in the test case. Depending upon how “closely” the 2 gbXML files correlate, it will determine the level of compliance for that test case (Level 1,2, or 3):
