  • There are three gbXML elements associated with construction material properties

There are three elements (“Material”, “Layer” and “Construction”) in gbXML associated with material properties. Firstly, the “Material” element describes material’s thermal properties such as R-Value, thermal conductivity, density and specific heat as well as dimensions such as thickness, etc. Secondly, the “Layer” element explains the order of materials. Thirdly, the “Construction” element includes material’s absorptance and roughness values, which are necessary data in the “Material” object in EnergyPlus.
